Dale Fickett is the Founder & Executive Director of RVA Works. In this capacity he leads the organization’s efforts to strengthen the Social Impact of entrepreneurship in Richmond. Dale recently served on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Business Incubation Association, and the Virginia Social Enterprise & Impact Investing Working Group. He previously served on the Executive Steering Committee of the Virginia Small Business Quality Award Panel – an initiative of the U.S. Senate and the Secretary of Commerce & Trade for Virginia.
He recently authored “Differentiating Our Startup Ecosystem” and “Creating Jobs in Virginia – Building New Businesses”. His background includes work consulting with Accenture’s Financial Services strategy practice in Europe, and as a startup founder. In academia he has conducted research and lectured at institutions, including: Trinity College Dublin, the Wharton School SBDC at the University of Pennsylvania, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Northwestern University. Dale also serves in numerous capacities within the Catholic Church, with a particular focus on Economic Justice and Sustainability.
He achieved a BSBA cum laude from LaSalle University in Management and in Finance; and an MBA magna cum laude from Villanova University. He is father to Fiona Mary and Cian Stephen Fickett.
